French River Park is a 1.66 acre park in downtown Webster, constructed on property leased by the French River Connection and the Town from Holden Block LLC. The park was completed in 2011, under the direction of the Webster Office of Community Development, and a public celebration was held in August. Many local businesses contributed to the success of the event.
The park features a paved path, native plantings, benches, picnic tables , lighting, a boat launch, and rain gardens for stormwater control. The park was designed by the Green Valley Institute.
The park anchors the planned Webster Riverwalk, for which engineering will be initiated in 2012. The park replaces an invasive plant and vagrant infested vacant lot with a downtown destination which contributes to the revitalization of downtown Webster.
